Analysis of the ideas of Charles Darwin connected with the problem of beauty in nature, their possible roots in older aesthetic thinking (British aesthetic thinking of the 18th century, in Romanticism and physiological aesthetics) and further discussion on Darwins approach, in the field of biology – partly in the neo-Darwinian thinking, partly in „alternative“ attempts, including Czech biology. A brief history of the relationship on the part of Czech aesteticians to Darwin and his theory.
