Abstract
The article provides an analysis of media culture in the former Czechoslovakia in the 1930s. It describes the way how media reflected their own past in the 1930s, focusing on coming of film sound and related discourse on a heritage of silent cinema and necessity to establish national film archive.

Studie se zabývá mediální kulturou 30. let 20. století v bývalém Československu. Věnuje se způsobům, jak média začala reflektovat vlastní minulost v souvislosti s nástupem filmového zvuku, s diskursem o dědictví němého filmu a nutnosti založit národní filmový archiv.
