Anotace
Ganglioglioma is an uncommon primary lesion of the central nervous system, representing less than 2% of all intracranial tumors and they appear more commonly in children and young adults and tend to occur in the medullary region. Gross total resection as it was performed in our patient appears to be curative subtotal resection or biopsy carries the risk for recurrence. Radiation therapy is regarded as not indicated after gross total resection and should be restricted to only high-grade cases or special indications, such as when resection is impossible. We conclude that these tumors are rare and should be treated surgically aiming total remove. If it is not possible or in case of reoccurrence the patinet should be followed and radiotherapy could be considered.
