Abstract

Cílem tohoto článku je nejprve na pozadí specifik životní situace dlouhodobě nezaměstnaných absolventů škol diskutovat adekvátní pojetí konceptu sociální exkluze pro tuto sociální skupinu a význam lidského a sociálního kapitálu pro zmírnění rizika sociálního vyloučení. Druhým cílem je prostřednictvím komparace případových studií životní situace dvou dlouhodobě nezaměstnaných absolventů Katky a Karla (tématické a biografické rozhovory byly realizované v rámci projektu Přechod do dospělosti v podmínkách dlouhodobé nezaměstnanosti VZ Mladěro, MSM 142300002) přiblížit čtenářům komplexitu a typovou specifičnost sociální zkušenosti, jíž tito lidé procházejí, a to se zaměřením na přítomné či nepřítomné formy sociálního vyloučení v jejich zkušenostech a na roli zmíněných kapitálů. Na základě provedených analýz se ukazuje být pro tuto skupinu vhodným konceptem sociální exkluze Senovo pojetí, které dokáže zachytit obtíže spojené nejen s vyloučením z určitých segmentů společnosti, ale i s nemožností vůbec do nich vstoupit, a to s ohledem na aktuální životní cíl, který jedinec sleduje a který u absolventů škol představuje postupný přechod do dospělosti.

Abstract (in English)

The aim of this article is primarily to discuss an adequate notion of the concept of social exclusion for the social group of long-term unemployed school graduates, against a background of this group’s specific life situation, and explore the significance of human and social capital for reducing the risk of social exclusion. The second aim is to confront case studies of the life situation of two long-term unemployed graduates, Katka and Karel, in order to enlighten the reader on the complex nature and the specific types of social experience that these people have. In so doing, the article focuses both on the forms of social exclusion present in the interviewees’ experience and those absent from it, as well as on the role of the previously mentioned forms of capital. The executed analyses suggest Sen’s notion of social exclusion as a concept adequate for this group, as it can identify the difficulties associated not only with exclusion from certain segments of society, but also with the sheer impossibility of entering such segments in the first place. At the same time, Sen’s concept of social exclusion takes account of the life goal currently pursued by the individual, represented, in the case of school graduates, by a gradual transition to adulthood.
