Abstract

Migrace vzdělaných vrstev v posledních patnácti letech existence post-socialistické střední Evropy je společenským procesem, který se odehrává spíše v tichých spodních proudech sociálních změn než v proudu převratných a zlomových událostí. V tomto textu si klademe za cíl představit a popsat partikulární případ spadající do výše zmíněného spodního proudu změn. Naši pozornost jsme zaměřili na post-socialistickou migrační síť osmi vysokoškolsky vzdělaných mladých žen, na procesy formování jejich kulturní identity a životního světa. O migraci těchto mladých žen mluvíme na základě našeho etnografického výzkumu, který pokračuje i v současnosti, v tomto textu představované interpretace tvoří souhrn našich dosavadních analýz.

Abstract (in English)

In considering the symbolic incorporation of migrants at their host societies sociological and anthropological discourses are challenged by the way in which recent migrants do not simply leave their homelands behind but make great efforts to maintain their attachments at distance. In this paper we examine a transnational migrant network of eight highly educated young women from the post-socialist southern Slovakia with a particular attention to the construction of their diasporic identity and shared lifeworld. We interpret the migration of these highly educated persons as a coherent continuation of their life course rather than a rupture in it. In order to understand their recent biographical situation one needs to consider the role that a particular form of habitus plays in their migration. We claim that the experiences of living in a culturally hybrid lifeworld of Czechoslovak Hungarians play an important role in shaping their disposition to live in the dual world of mobile subjects
