En 1980, dans le numéro 85 de Tel Quel, Philippe Sollers affirme : "[...] nous avons revécu une vieille aventure a laquelle sans doute, nous avons nous-meme mis fin, qui est l'aventure de toutes les avant-gardes occidentales au vingtieme siecle : la contradiction entre l'art et l'engagement politique." Sollers déclare ouvertement que Tel Quel est tombé lui-meme dans ce dont il voulait se démarquer, c'est-a-dire l'impasse que représente l'engagement politique et dans laquelle s'était trouvé aussi le Surréalisme. Dans cette réflexion, je propose une prise de vue sur l'histoire de deux "mouvances" qui ont marqué, comme nulle autre, la vie littéraire française de la seconde moitié du 20e siecle.

Roku 1980 v čísle 85 časopisu Tel Quel Philippe Sollers prohlašuje: "[...] znovu jsme si prožili staré dobrodružství, k jehož konci jsme bezpochyby také přispěli. Je to dobrodružství, které si prožily všechny západní avant-gardy ve 20. století: rozpor mezi uměním a politickou angažovaností." Sollers tak otevřeně přiznává, že hnutí okolo časopisu Tel Quel zaboudilo na místa, kterým se samo chtělo vyhnout. Slepou uličkou je zde politizace umění, které značně pošramotilo pověst i surrealismu. V tomto článku se nabízí zamyšlení nad rolí, již sehrála dvě fr. literární hnutí - Tel Quel a "nový román" v dějinách fr. literatury druhé pol. 20. stol.

This article deales with a text by Philippe Sollers written in 1980 where this representative of the last french avant-garde openly admits that the movement around the journal Tel Quel fell itself into a trap that it wishet to skip out. That is to say the impasse of political engagement and where was also found Surrealism. In this reflection, I suggest taking a view on the history of two "spheres of influence" that marked, as in no other French literary life from the second half of the 20th centuryrole played by the two fr. Literary Movement - Tel Quel and the "Nouveau Roman" in the history of Fr. literature of the second half of the 20th century.
