In English

This article deals with the elections to the Danish parliament (Folketinget) held on the 8th February 2005. The article highlights three main points: Firstly, Anders Fogh Rasmussen became the first re-elected Liberal prime minister in Danish history. Secondly, the Social Democratic Party, the most successful Danish political party ever, achieved its worst results since so-called earthquake-elections in 1973. Thirdly, the new minority government was formed by the Liberal Party and the Conservative People Party, supported by the right-wing Danish People s Party, which remained third largest political party in Denmark.
