Abstract

V originále

IFIP: The International Federation for Information Processing and its Working group G 5.11 organized 6th International Symposium on Environmental Software Systems (ISESS07), at May 22-25, 2007, in Prague, Czech Republic. This year Symposium has seen the incorporation of streams solicited from, and suggested by, colleagues to show the breadth of informatics research, if not to completely map it. ICT tools for risk management, open source GIS tools, artificial intelligence applications, bridging to non-professional audiences, human factors and EIS, next generation EIS, distributed modelling, and lake and water management software are representative generic areas where computing has made tremendous contributions to our collective environmental research, which are represented here. Keynote addresses on data streams, environmental space, and the future of EIS in Europe give us focus on broader issues in environmental computing.
