Abstract

This contribution constitutes theoretical and methodological reflections on research in which the authors have used the concept genre as an instrument of interpretation. The aplication of the term genre is illustrated by three examples from authors' research, which was focused on 1) reflections on life changes, 2) making sense of cancer, and 3) Sarah Kane play 4.48 Psychosis and its relation to the author's suicide. In connection with these researches, we define genre as giving form to experience. We suggest a monadic model as framework for our conception of genre. The broader framework of culture is discussed in two steps. First, genre is defined as a type of communicational interaction in the framework of model of transmission. Then in the shared tool model, we define genre as an instrument of mediation of the activity system. The concept of genre understood in this broad manner makes it possible to understand human experience in its individual, interactional, and sociocultural dimensions.

Příspěvek obsahuje teoretické a metodologické reflexe výzkumů, v nichž autoři použili pojem žánr jako prostředek interpretace. Užití pojmu žánr je ilustrováno třemi příklady z výzkumů autorů zaměřených na 1) reflexi životních změn, 2) utváření významu onemocnění rakovinou a 3) na hru Sarah Kaneové Psychóza ve 4.48 ve vztahu k sebevraždě autorky. V souvislosti s těmito výzkumy vymezují autoři žánr jako formu, kterou jedinec dává své zkušenosti. Východiskem pojetí žánru je pro autory monadický model. Širší rámec kultury je diskutován ve dvou krocích: 1. žánr je charakterizován jako druh komunikační interakce v rámci modelu transmise. Poté je žánr definován jako nástroj zprostředkující systém jednání. Takto chápaný koncept žánru umožňuje rozumět lidské zkušenosti v jejích individuálních, interakčních a sociokulturních dimenzích.
