Abstract
In this study, we sought to eliucidate the role of genetic variability in the NADPH oxidase gene in asthma susceptibility by means of association study of three polymorphisms (SNPs) in the CYBA (cytochrome b(-245) alpha) gene (16q24.3) encoding p22phox subunit of NADPH oxidase. Our study supports hypothesis that genetic variability in the CYBA gene probably contributes to the susceptibility to the bronchial asthma (or its related phenotypes) in the Czech population.

V této práci jsme zkoumali úlohu genetické variability v genu pro NADPH oxidázu s ohledem na vznik a rozvoj astmatu pomocí asociační studie 3 polymorfizmů (SNPs) v CYBA (cytochrom b (-245) alfa) genu, který kóduje p22phox podjednotku NADPH oxidázy. Naše práce podporuje hypotézu, že se genetická variabilita v CYBA genu může podílet na rozvoji bronchiálního astmatu (nebo s ním spojených fenotypů) v české populaci.
