Článek popisuje spektrum vnímání mateřství u českých žen, v jaké podobě ovlivňuje mateřství jejich život a jak zasahuje do identity ženy po narození prvního dítěte. Zabývá se otázkou, jak se vyvíjí vnímání sebe jako matky pod vlivem měnících se společenských podmínek.

The paper proposes to ascertain if and how the spectrum of perception of motherhood in Czech women is broadening, how motherhood influences their life, and how interferes with the identity of woman after the birth of her first child. It deals with the question how the perception of self as a mother is developing under the influence of changing societal conditions
