Abstract

The aim of this contribution paper is to point out also other possible interpretations of selected silver vessels and to open a discussion. Our interest will be focused on fragments of vessels from a rich cremation grave in Holubice and a cylindrical strainer from tomb No. II in Krakovany-Stráže. The submitted supplementary notes present alternative interpretations to the studied material, thus extending the possible point of view of the studied issues. Nowadays the four fragments from Holubice may only be combined hypothetically. It seems imaginable that the bell-shaped foot and the vessel side with a dished mouth that has a thickened edge could have belonged to each other. A relation of the Roman horizontal handle with the ring and finger rest of a German origin, albeit imaginable, has no parallel. The strainer from tomb II in Krakovany-Stráže certainly does not copy artless kitchen shapes as has been assumed by older research; it belongs to the group of strainers that were inserted into the mouths of utensils. It will certainly be possible to improve and further amend the presented hypotheses by new knowledge with the development of the attitude to the studied issues.

Abstract (in Czech)

Cílem tohoto příspěvku je poukázát i na jiné možné interpretace vybraných stříbrných nádob a otevřít diskusi. Středem našeho zájmu budou zlomky nádob z bohatého žárového hrobu z Holubic a cylindrický cedník z hrobu II z Krakovan-Stráží. Předkládané dodatky představují alternativní interpretace ke studovanému materiálu a rozšiřují tak možný úhel pohledu na studovanou problematiku. Čtyři fragmenty z Holubic je dnes možné kombinovat pouze hypoteticky. Zdá se představitelné, že k sobě mohly patřit zvoncovitá nožka a kus stěny nádoby s konkávně odsazeným ústím se zesíleným okrajem. Sounáležitost římské destičky držadla s kroužkem a opěrkou pro prst germánské provenience je sice představitelná, ale nemá nikde obdoby. Cedník z hrobu II z Krakovan-Stráží jistě svým tvarem nenapodobuje hrubé kuchyňské tvary, jak se domnívalo starší bádání, a patří do skupiny cedníků, které byly zasouvány do ústí nádob. Uvedené hypotézy bude možné s novými poznatky jistě do budoucna zpřesnit a dále doplnit, tak jak se budou dále vyvíjet názory na studovanou problematiku.
