Abstract
In their theory of segmented assimilation Portes and Zhou (1993) wrote that it is not a question whether immigrants integrate but into what part of the host society they integrate. One of the factors that might influence their place in the society is discrimination (de Rudder 1991). In this paper we would like to describe discrimination that Ukrainian and Romanian immigrant women face in the Czech labour market and focus mainly on the impact that this discrimination has on their social status and social mobility.
