Abstract

Proces suburbanizace v postkomunistickém prostoru mění sociálně-demografickoý charakter městských sídel. Migrace zejména středních tříd z jádrových měst do aglomerací se odráží ve volebním chování v samotném městě i jeho okolí. Cílem textu je vymezení zkoumaného prostoru městské aglomerace na konkrétním případu Brna a jeho okolí a to posouzením různých sociologických a jiných přístupů definování prostoru městské aglomerace.

Abstract (in English)

Progressive suburbanization in post-comunist area changes the sociodemographic structure of the city. This changing process (migration of middle-class from the core city into the suburban zones) re-defines electors behaviour in the city and its agglomeration. The aim of this articel is to delimit the metropolitan area according to needs of detailed election research. On the example of Brno agglomeration the text compares different approaches how to define the suburban area according to existing sociodemographic data and comparable election data.
