Geoinformatika a digitální kartografie nabízí nová a přínosná témata pro činnost žáků v počítačových učebnách škol. Umožňuje aktivně zapojit žáky nejen do klasického používání map, ale podněcuje je i k tvorbě vlastních mapových výstupů.Obsah a způsob přípravy studentů učitelství zeměpisu v oblasti geografických informačních systémů a dálkového průzkumu Země se postupně i ve školní praxi projevuje postupném zařazování témat využívajících materiálů z oblasti produkce geoinformačních technologií do výuky na základních a středních školách. Otevírá se větší prostor pro zařazování projektů v rámci tvorby školních vzdělávacích programů. Článek představuej konktrétní GIS projekty a výsledky terénního šetření týkajícího se využívání digitálních map, interaktivních map, družicových a leteckých snímků v rámci vyučování zeměpisu.

Geoinformatics and cartography have become the important parts of many branches of science and economic functions of the society in the practical terms. People are clearly unable to use the technology at the right moment for selection or acquisition of the needed information. What is still virtually neglected is education in information and geo-information technologies for wide population. We often meet with a situation that can be defined, with a little exaggeration, as a clash between digital student and analogue teacher. Geography teaching can then be supported by cartography teaching We made reseach through czech teacher focused on using maps, digital maps on Internet and sattelite and air images in geographical lessons, we asked them about interests of using material of remote sensing, GIS practice and readiness to learn new thing. Answers were mostly positive. The article describes results of some GIS and RS and cartographical projects on elementary and secondary schools.
