Abstract
We have archived through PACS over 1000 recordings since September 2005. Digital recordings are of a much higher quality than analogue ones and risk of their loss is very low. Recordings of infertility patients represent a large group of performed surgeries. In combination with the second-look laparoscopy, they are used for the treatment evaluation, especially in case of GnRH analogue therapy and help to plan the follow-up therapy. Attending physician can look up patient’s endoscopy recording and discuss and outline the treatment strategy. Tutorial database contains 150 gynecology cases with complete patient’s report, is anonymous and designed for students of all branches of medicine. Discussion Introduction of PACS into gynecology has brought in many benefits. Important findings of all endoscopic surgeries are safely archived and can be further processed and used for the effective treatment of infertility patients. Archived files are important for the research or forensic purposes. Hospital PACS is a great source of an educational material and the option of anonymization makes the images accessible for medical students.
