Abstract

Demokracie je považována za jednu z důležitých podmínek pro vytvoření základů dlouhodobě udržitelného růstu hospodářství. Ve studii zkoumáme, jak politická liberalizace v Maďarsku ovlivnila akumulaci výrobních faktorů práce a kapitálu. Zda po pádu autoritářského režimu rovněž došlo k růstu jejich produktivity. Zjišťujeme, že extenzivní růst maďarské ekonomiky byl skutečně nahrazen růstem intenzivním. Přechod k demokracie měl pozitivní vliv na charakter a výkonnost maďarského hospodářství. Ve studii je používáno chronologického řazení událostí.

Abstract (in English)

Democracy is supposed to be one of the important conditions to establish the principles for the long-run sustainable economic growth. We investigate how political liberalization influenced accumulation of labor and physical as well as human capital in Hungary in years 1988 till 2005. Whether the collapse of the authoritarian regime brought about the growth of their productivity. We find that extensive growth was replaced by intensive one in Hungary. Transition to democracy had positive impact on character nad performance of hungarian economy. We use chronological sequencing of the events in our paper.
