Abstract
The softwood floodplain forest on a stationary plot Dobrohošť in the area affected by hydropower water structure Gabčíkovo on the Danube was studied in the years 1990 to 2006. Vegetation structure, species diversity, ecological condition, similarity and dynamic was evaluated. In the first three years natural floods occured. After the Danube damming the dynamic of ecosystem decreased with absence of floods, decline of the ground water level; the drain effect of the old Danube is evident. In the monitored period the forest stand is subjected to dynamic internal changes manifested by fluctuating species diversity, ecological structure, languishing and gradual dying off of the tree layer. PCA analysis confirmed dependence of the crop on precipitation in summer months.
