The article deals with the emergence and activity of advisory bodies in the field of legislation. It provides typology of advisory bodies in general and its comparison with legislative councils. Author further in detail examines legal regulation, position, functions, term, composition, nature and rules of procedure of the Legislative Council of the Czech Government.
