Abstract

V originále

Aim of this study is to determinate effect of low-frequency (50 Hz) magnetic field to morphology of studied bacterial strains. For our experiments, we have used two types of bacteria: Paracoccus denitrificans CCM 982 (NCIB 8944) and Escherichia coli (strain K12, Row, genotype 58-161 metB1rpsL 1+ FdefP.Fredericq). Our previous studies indicate that the alternating magnetic field effect on bacteria is shape-dependent. For spherical bacteria (Paracoccus and Staphylococcus) is the field effect smaller then for rod-like strains (Escherichia and Leclercia). Thus, we decided to perform experiments, which could determinate bacterial morphology after magnetic field exposure. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) was used for bacterial morphology imaging. AFM is powerful tool for such study, because bacteria remain during the imaging process alive. This work was supported by the grant project No. 1M0528.

In Czech

Studovali jsme bakteriální morfologii za použití AFM mikroskopie. Studopvýny byly bakterie P. denitrificans a E. coli - jako zástupci kulovitých a tyčkovitých bakterií. Ani po hodinové expozici 10 mT 50 Hz magnetickým polem jsme nezjistili žádné změny v bakteriální morfologii obou použitých kultur.
