Abstract (in English)
Although there is a vast literature on self-destructive behavior, the controversy over therms is real serious matter causing misunderstandings and misrepresented facts may lead to the common rejection and wrong form of treatment. Self-harming behavior, Self-injurious behavior, Self-harm, Self-injury, Self-mutilation, Self-mutilating behavior, Self-destructive behaviour, Deliberate self-harm, Self-wounding, Self-cutting, Parasuicide, Attempted suicide, Suicide, Suicidal behavior are terms widely used in researches to describe different kinds of self-destructive behavior. The same language is important and we have to try to be clear and to resolve the issue of which terms to use.
