Studie charakterizuje divadelní kritiku v českém divadelním časopise "Divadlo" v roce 1953, kdy časopis představoval monopolní divadelní periodikum. Autorka sleduje funkci kritiky, její kritéria a styl, stejně jako autorskou základnu a tematiku kritik. Uměleckou kritiku vztahuje k politickému kontextu a dochází k závěru, že zcela podléhala komunistickému totalitnímu režimu a plnila funkci regulátora divadelní produkce v Československu.

The study characterizes and analyzes theatre criticism in the Czech theatre magazine “Divadlo” during 1953, the year which is usually considered as the beginning of the political detente. In that time, the magazine represented a monopole theatre periodical. The author analyzes the style of the critique, its criteria as well as its authors and themes. This kind of artistic criticism is considered within the political context and states that the criticism is fully conform to the communist totalitarian regime and functions as a regulator of the theatre production in Czechoslovakia even though its propagandistic power is weakened by its undefined criteria.
