Teaching through the medium of English (CLIL) is becoming an issue on elementary, secondary as well as tertiary levels of education. Extensive attention is devoted to the questions of methodology of teaching CLIL lessons, however, the need to investigate effective ways of assessing students is equally important. This paper is going to address the problems of “Content and Language Integrated Assessment” (CLIA), i. e. assessing topical and language knowledge at the same time. Possible scoring procedures and appropriate rating scales will be considered, while taking into account the situation at the University of Defence.
