V originále
The study of viviparous monogeneans collected from the gills of grey bichir (P. senegalus) has recovered the specimens of unknown parasite which has been identified as a specimens of a new genus. The description of new species and new genus was prepared. Diplogyrodactylus martini n. g. et sp. is a gyrodactylid with internal anatomy similar to that of Gyrodactylus species. The difference in the internal anatomy of newly described parasite was found only in the morphology of the cirrus. Tubular muscular cirrus has no spine to compare with Gyrodactylus species. The main characters typical for new genus were observed in the morphology of the haptoral sclerites. Haptor of D. martini is equipped with one pair of hamuli, ventral bar without membrane and 16 marginal hooks of two morphological types and different sizes. Five pairs of marginal hooks with large well defined falcular shaped sickles and three pairs of marginal hooks with smaller sickles. On the haptor of the specimens, there is an additional feature, a pair of muscular adhesive disc situated on the side of hamuli. The molecular characterisation of D. martini was also obtained by ITS PCR amplification using four specimens with result of a single product of approximately 900 bp long.
