Článek analyzuje různé druhy obchodu, zvláště ty definované Hérodotem a dalšími starověkými autory, a srovnává je s archeologickými doklady obchodu v pravěku v evropském mírném pásmu.

The paper analyses kinds of trade, especially the varieties defined by Herodotus and other ancient authors on the fringes of the Classcial world and compares them with the prehistoric evidence from the moderate zone of Europe.
