Abstract

Biografie a bibliografie jednoho z nejinspirativnějších lingvistů 19. století, který jako první zavedl myšlenku evoluce do genetické jazykovědy. Byl také autorem prvních indo-evropských rekonstrucí. Jako první systematicky využil slovanská a baltská data jako indo-evropská komparanda.

Abstract (in English)

Biography and bibliography of one of the most inspiring linguists of the 19th century, who introduced the idea of evolution into genetic linguistics. He also was the author of the first proto-Indo-European reconstructions. As the first West European scholar he used systematically the Slavic and Baltic data in the Indo-European comparanda.
