This publication has three main goals: First, to give a critical overview of the psychological research concerning the choice, use and effects of fertility awareness-based methods (FABM) on users and a marital (or committed) relationship. Second, to integrate these findings into the framework of modern psychological theories. And, third, to formulate a theoretical model of satisfaction with, correct use and continuation of these methods.

Tato publikace si klade tři následující cíle: Zaprvé podat kritický přehled psychologického výzkumu výběru, používání a vlivu metod založených na sledování plodnosti (angl. FABM) na manželský (či partnerský) vztah. Zadruhé chce integrovat tato zjištění do rámce moderních psychologických teorií. A zatřetí prezentuje teoretický model spokojenosti s těmito metodami a jejich správného a dlouhodobého používání.
