Abstract
In the chapter, the processes of heterochromatinisation of terminal chromosome domains are discussed, as well as evolution of minisatellite and satellite sequences at chromosome termini, variability of telomeres and interrelated functions between telomeres and nucleoli.

V kapitole je pojednáno o procesech heterochromatinizace terminálních chromozomových domén, o evoluci minisatelitních a satelitních sekvencí v koncových částech chromozomů, variabilitě telomer a funkčních vztazích mezi telomerami a jadérky.
