Abstract
Smoking is one of the factors negatively impacting health (O Loughlin & Tarasuk, 2003). Despite the fact that the Czech Republic is under the average of European Union, still the number of smokers is high (Daňková, Chudobová, Kamberská, Popovič, & Tvrdá, 2007). Thus, smoking should be paid attention to. Physical activity is considered a means that can reduce negative impacts of smoking on the organism (Anton et al., 2006). However, the exact characteristics of physical activity effective in this matter have not been revealed yet. Comparison of FITT characteristics of physical activity in smokers and non smokers can provide information that could serve as a basis for prevention and treatment of nicotine addiction.
