Le colloque a traité aussi bien de la problématique linguistique que littéraire. D'une part, les interventions ont monté que les langues naturelles utilisent différents moyens pour exprimer les relations temporelles et spatiales. D'autre part, le theme principal a été envisagé dans une perspective plus large : meme les langues évoluent dans le temps et connaissent des variantes géographiques (recherches historiques et dialectologiques). De plus, certaines interventions ont tenu compte de la variété des thématiques liées a l'évolution des langues romanes vis-a-vis de l'histoire coloniale. Les interventions littéraires ont monté que la littérature doit davantage négocier avec les deux catégories. Trois niveaux, notamment, ont été distingués : 1o temps et espace de la représentation; 2o temps et espace représentés ou créés par le texte ; 3o signification du temps-espace inscrits dans le texte. Plusieurs pistes (génologique, narratologique, thématologique) se sont offertes.

Konference proběhla ve čtyřech románských jazycích ve dvou základních oblastech - literární a lingvistické. Šíře záberu témat jednotlivých příspěvků ukázala, že dvě základní aristotelovské kategorie stojí u základu veškerého poznání. Nejenže se jedná o dva základní jazykové a literární parametry, ale studie také ukázaly, že ztvárnení času i prostoru může mít různé podoby v závislosti na době a místě ztvárnění.
