V originále
Text představuje typologii genderových vztahů "při porodu". Hlavním tématem jsou podoby a proměny českého otcovství, inspirované empirickou sondou mezi páry očekávající a posléze vychovávající prvního potomka.
In English
The text thematises contemporary Czech fatherhood based on experiences of couples after a child delivery of their first child where both parents were present. Research analysis concentrated on the event of childbirth and gender aspects of this stage of family life and on re/productive mechanisms of gender while monitoring expectations and later coping strategies of these parents described in the interviews. The theoretical context of the research is set within sociological gender studies, gendered structure of society and its reproduction and change. In the background, it also reflects recent political debates on reconciliation of home and work, equal opportunities in the family and promoting active fatherhood. Outcomes from the recently finished empirical study relevant for analyses of parents-to-be and new parents are offered for discussion and critical reflection here.
