Abstract

Monografie předkládá různé pohledy na historické pozadí vzniku a vývoje konceptu kalokagathie. Poukazuje na její xenofobní kořeny ve starověkém Řecku a její pozitivní a negativní využití v dalších historických obdobích. Pokouší se definovat význam a využití tohoto ideálu v současnosti. Text je výsledkem výzkumu soudobé ideologie sportu.

Abstract (in English)

The monograph attempts to show and to clear the historic background of origin and development of the concept "kalokagathia". It points out the xenophobic roots of the concept in the ancient Greece and its positives and negatives of its using in the next historical periods. At the end, the text attempts to define the new significancy and application of the concept nowadays. The monograph is a outcome of a research into modern ideology of sport.
