The presentation is to show the ways in which actual design of the first Czechoslovak widescreen projection machine FTP 1 was influenced by the regimes uncertainties about new formats in general and problems in cooperation between the national cinema industry and the manufacturers of cinema technology in a country with the classical socialist system, as defined by Hungarian economist János Kornai.

Příspěvek byl zaměřen na popis procesu výroby kinematografického promítacího stroje FTP 1, prvního československého projektoru vybaveného pro projekci širokoúhlých filmů. Měl ukázat, jak byl návrh ovlivněn nejistotou o budoucím vývoji nových širokoúhlých formátů, ale také problémy ve spolupráci v rámci zestátněného hospodářství - mezi Českoslovenkým státním filmem a podniky dodávajícími výrobky optiky a jemné mechaniky.
