Social work with immigrants has to face multiple challenges. In the book On the Move, the authors present the history, the developments of integration programmes and the treatment of immigrants and minorities in different European regions. It shows the approaches of social work and social workers that were developed through these processes. The articles can be read as regional studies that allow basic approximations of the different histories and situations, but also as case studies presenting elements that are similar in social work throughout Europe.

V rámci sociální práce s imigranty se vynořuje v současné době množství výzev. V této knize autoři prezentují historii, rozvoj integračních programů a celkově práci s imigranty v různých oblastech Evropy. Kniha seznamuje s přístupy v sociální práci v souvislosti s výše zmíněnými procesy. Jednotlivé kapitoly je možné číst také jako regionální studie nebo případové studie, ve kterých jsou patrné reakce na migraci v Evropě.
