V originále
The purpose of this article is to introduce an advanced system for the support of processing of medical image information, and the terminology related to this system, which can be an important element to a faster transition to a fully digitalized hospital. The goal was to establish an open, collaborative environment that supports broad cooperation, improves cost-effectiveness, quality of treatment as well as coordinating research and education. Healthcare institutions and faculties of medicine can therefore exploit the large potential of databases of medical image information being processed in hospitals today.
