Abstract

This paper introduces a group of newly discovered Mesolithic rockshelter sites in the Czech Republic. Whereas the rockshelter of Okrouhlík, representative of the Early Mesolithic stage, is located higher above the valley floor and has only shallow sediment coverage above the cultural layers, the rockshelter of Dolský Mlýn, representing the Late Mesolithic stage, is located almost on the valley floor level, with a massive income of above sediments. A network of smaller rockshelter sites was recorded around. Thanks to its shallow position, the Okrouhlík rockshelter was excavated almost completely, demonstrating internal within-site patterning: a central hearth, system of surrounding kettle-shaped pits, and two large, stone-filled, marginally located hearths. This site structure may be compared to other hunter-gatherer's sites such as Dolní Věstonice II. Analyses of the environmental data, fauna, and use-wear on lithic artifacts are included.

Tento článek prezentuje skupinu nově objevených mezolitických lokalit v České republice. Zatímco převis Okrouhlík jako reprezentativní lokalita staršího mezolitu leží výše nad dnem údolí a má pouze mělký sedimentární překryv, převis Dolský Mlýn, reprezentativní pro mladší mezolit, leží téměř na úrovni údolního dna, v místech masívního přísunu sedimentů z vyšších poloh. V okolí byl zjištěn okruh menších mezolitických lokalit. Díky mělkému uložení kulturních vrstev byl převis Okrouhlík prozkoumán téměř kompletně, takže byla zjištěna vnitřní struktura osídlení: centrální ohniště, systém kotlíkovitých jamek v okolí a dvě velká ohniště vyplněná kameny na periferii. Tato struktura může být srovnávána s jinými lovecko-sběračskými sídlišti, např. Dolní Věstonice II. Přiloženy jsou analýzy prostředí, fauny a pracovních stop na kamenných artefaktech.
