Abstract

This political science oriented paper examines the (possible) existence of corporatist features of the political system of the Czech Republic. Some attributes of the Czech interest representation system may be, at least formally, regarded as corporatist: above all the existence of a tripartite body for consultations between the state and social partners (The Council of Economic and Social Agreement), which provides the main interest groups some access to the decision making process, and the hierarchical structure of trade unions and employers organizations. The paper compares the case of the Czech Republic with two concepts of tripartism or corporatism in Central and Eastern Europe: David Osts illusory corporatism and Stephen Padgetts corporatism without tripartism. The aim of the paper is to asses to what extent does the Czech Republic differ from the other Central and Eastern European Countries and to discuss to what extent can be the Czech interest intermediation system regarded as corporatist.

Abstract (in Czech)

Politologicky orientovaný článek zkoumá možnou existenci korporativních rysů v politickém systému České Republiky. Některé znaky českého politického systému mohou, alespoň po formální stránce, být považovány za korporativistické: především fungování tripartitní instituce pro konzultace státu se sociálními partnery (Rada hospodářské a sociální dohody), která poskytuje klíčovým zájmovým skupinám přístup do rozhodovacího procesu; dále sem patří relativně hierarchická struktura oborových a zaměstnavatelských organizací. Článek vychází ze dvou konceptů korporativismu střední a východní Evropy: ilusorního korporativismu Davida Osta a korporativismu bez tripartismu Stephena Padgetta. Na jejich základě článek hodnotí, do jaké míry lze český systém zprostředkování zájmů považovat za korporativistický.
