Abstract

Úvod - Motivy studia malých měst, shrnutí dosavadního výzkumu, cíl práce. Teorie - Vymezení pojmu malé město, analýza literatury a pramenů, mezinárodní zasazení problematiky, struktura problematiky. Předmět studia - Malá města Jihomoravského kraje, Moravy, Česka, střední Evropy; jejich přehledy, postavení v sídelní struktuře a podobně. Metodika studia - Metodika podle jednotlivých oborů a její diskuse, parciální syntézy a jejich vypovídací schopnost, percepce malých měst, GIS vybraného malého města. Empirická část - Výsledky empirických studií s vybranými ukázkami, kartografické zpracování. Zobecnění problematiky malých moravských měst - Funkce malých měst a jejich připravenost je naplnit, limity, bariéry a hrozby, možné strategie ve vztahu k setrvalosti, diferenciace malých měst. Závěr - Význam malých měst pro strukturu osídlení, krajinu a člověka, budoucnost malých měst, doporučené směry výzkumu.

Abstract (in English)

The publication is based on empirical studies of some small towns in Moravia, processed by using the methods of regional geography and sociological methods. Emphasis is put on the synthetic parts: environment, spatial structure, issue of the perception of towns and pros and cons from the viewpoint of prospects. Evaluation will be made on the basis of a comparison of model cases and the hitherto experience. The small towns are classifield into categories by their existing position in the settlement system and by their prospective functions. There is generalized issue of small towns in the settlement pattern, their position, functions, relation to other seats and perspectives. It includes also the Atlas of small towns (cartograms).
