Rostlinná společenstva na zdech tvoří součást synantropní vegetace. Vegetace zdí České republiky není stále dostatečně prozkoumána kvůli malému množství snímků. Na jižní a západní Moravě byl v letech 2001-2003 proveden fytocenologický výzkum vegetace zdí. Bylo pořízeno celkem 302 fytocenologických snímků, které byly zpracovány shlukovou analýzou. Celkem bylo rozlišeno deset společenstev. Každé společenstvo bylo podrobně popsáno z hlediska své struktury a druhového složení, ekologických nároků a rozšíření ve studovaném území. Rozlišená společenstva zdí byla porovnána s analogickou vegetací z jiných oblastí České republiky a Evropy. ER -
