Abstract
The author focuses on the main risks involved in the process of ageing related to the specific characteristics of teaching profession. Theoretical fundings are suplemented with preliminary research results. The authors opens a discussion on several possibilities of motivating teachers towards the very end of their professional vareer by educational policies and mainly by school itself.

Autorka zaměřuje pozornost k hlavním problémům spojeným s procesem stárnutí v profesi učitele. Teoretický rámec je doplněn o první výsledky výzkumu zaměřeného na psychologické, pedagogické a sociální aspekty učitelů v pozdní fázi kariéry. Autorka také otevírá diskusi o možnostech podpory a motivace starších učitelů a to jak ze strany školeké politiky, tak především ve strany škol samotných.
