Abstract
Oxidative stress and persistent inflammation are implicated in the progression of heart failure. The aim of the study was to investigate selected parameters of oxidative stress (malondialdehyde, vitamins A and E and tumor necrosis factor alpha) in patients with acute heart failure after acute myocardial infarction. Plasma values of vitamins were almost within reference interval. Levels of malondialdehyde and TNF alpha were elevated in 18 and 46 % patients on admission, respectively. Level of malondialdehyde correlated positively with TNF alpha and vitamin A and level of TNFalpha correlated negatively with vitamin E on admission. In contrast to these correlations, there were no significant relationships between measured parameters and LV ejection fraction.
Abstract (in Czech)
Studie se zabývala vybranými markery oxidativního stresu (malondiladehyd, vitaminy A a E a tumor nekrotizující faktor alfa)u pacientů s s akutním srdečním selháním v průběhu akutního infarktu myokardu.
