Autoři se nepokoušejí o zpochybnění současných koncepcí Rotberga, Zartmana a dalších, ale snaží se rozčlenit tyto teoretické poznatky do tří dimenzí v závislosti na faktorech, s nimiž autoři těchto koncepcí pracují. Výsledkem jsou tři definované dimenze selhání a rozpadu státní autority - mezinárodně-politická, ekonomická a sociopolitická. V závěru je představen nástroj think-tanku Fund for Peace, jenž se pokouší zkloubit všechny tři přístupy. ER -
