Abstract
The influence of a high bromide intake in lactating rat dams on iodine and bromide transfer through mother's milk to the suckling and the effects on iodine metabolism are discussed. Moreover, the impact of high levels of bromide on the dam's performance in the course of the lactation period, and in particular on the well-being of their young, are described.
