Abstract

Cet article présente les résultats d'une enquete quantitative réalisée sur la circulation du néologisme identitaire 'bolos'. Cette apostrophe péjorative qui comporte un sémantisme riche et qui est étymologiquement opaque a subi des glissements de sens importants selon les milieux sociaux / régions / moyens et l'époque de familiarisation avec ce lexeme. Pour ce faire, notre enquete a consisté en une méthode de collecte par voie de questionnaires papier et de questionnaires en ligne sur Internet (plus de 1200 réponses) récoltés entre mars 2008 et janvier 2009. Dans le but de mieux comprendre la circulation et la vie des néologismes, nous souhaitons montrer sur quoi reposent les mots identitaires : expressivité, instabilité temporelle et sémantique.

Abstract (in English)

This paper presents the results of a quantitative research of circulation of an identitary neologism 'bolos'. This insult can cover a rich semantic field and due to its etymological opacity, its sens have been changed in different ways, depending the social rank, regions, ways and periods of its discovery. To describe its usage, a questionary of more than 1200 respondents, passed between March 2008 and January 2009, is analysed.
