Abstract
Publikace Teorie sémiotiky představuje základní odbornou literaturu ve svém oboru. Eco toto dílo napsal přímo v angličtině a následně přeložil do mateřské italštiny pod názvem Trattato di semiotica generale. Eco vidí sémiotiku v širších souvislostech, především jako ekvivalent kulturní antropologie, neboť člověk jako tvůrce znaku je de facto samotnou podstatou znaku a znak je konsekventně podstatou veškeré lidské komunikace, tedy základním stavebním prvkem kultury. Komentovaný překlad vznikl pro potřebu sémiotických výzkumů překladatele a pracoviště.
Abstract (in English)
A Theory of Semiotics is an essential professional literature in its field. Umberto Eco has written this work in English and subsequently translated into Italian under the name Trattato generale di semiotica. Eco sees semiotics in a broader context, especially as the equivalent of cultural anthropology, as a human being as the creator of the sign is in fact the very essence of sign and the sign is consequently the essence of all human communication, that is the basic building block of culture. This annotated translation was created for needs for semiotic researches of translator and the department.
