Abstract
The paper deals with one of the possible applications of theory of fictional worlds in literary translation, applying this conceptual framework in inquiry into construction of fictional worlds and their relation to the actual world in translated fiction. This discussion is based on textual material from the novels Never Let Me Go (2005) by Kazuo Ishiguro and Survivor (1999) by Chuck Palahniuk and their respective Czech translations published by BB/art (2007) and Odeon (2002).
