Abstract

Within the frame of the GENASIS project, we introduce a userfriendly information system for the visualization and analysis of contamination of all environmental components by persistent organic pollutants (POPs). The system evaluates actual POPs contamination, its long-term trends and seasonal fluctuations. The GENASIS project utilizes data from national and international monitoring networks to obtain as-complete-as-possible set of information and a representative picture of environmental contamination by POPs. Project outcomes are useful as information source both for general public and experts, as well as for the process of the Stockholm Convention implementation.

V rámci projektu GENASIS, představíme uživatelsky přátelský informační systém pro vizualizaci a analýzu znečištění všech složek životního prostředí perzistentními organickými látkami (POPs). Systém vyhodnocuje skutečnou POP kontaminaci, její dlouhodobé trendy a sezónní výkyvy. Projekt GENASIS využívá údaje z národních a mezinárodních monitorovacích sítí, aby získal co nejúplnější soubor informací a reprezentativní zobrazení kontaminace životního prostředí POPs. Výsledky projektu jsou užitečné jako zdroj informací jak pro širokou veřejnost a odborníky, stejně jako pro proces implementace Stockholmské úmluvy.
