Abstract

Kniha Psychologie katastrofické události se z různých úhlů pohledu věnuje jedné z největších ničivých pohrom posledního desetiletí, záplavám, které zasáhly značnou část České republiky a celého středoevropského regionu v roce 2002. Jádrem publikace je původní výzkum, koncipovaný a koordinovaný v letech po povodni pracovníky Psychologického ústavu AV ČR v součinnosti s klinickými psychology a pomáhajícími pracovníky z Charity ČR. Součástí výzkumu je shrnutí aktuálních poznatků o prožívání situací mimořádné zátěže a traumatizujících událostí, dále rozsáhlá studie, věnovaná zkušenostem zasažených lidí ze všech regionů ČR s celým průběhem povodní včetně fáze obnovy, jejich prožitkům, potřebám i názorům na poskytovanou pomoc, a obdobná studie, zaměřená na zkušenosti pomáhajících z řad humanitárních pracovníků. Výsledky se opírají o záznamy semistrukturovaných rozhovorů, vedených se zástupci 492 zasažených domácností, a o analýzy ohniskových skupin, jichž se účastnili pomáhající. Událost charakteru povodní představuje i výzvu pro rozvoj organizace pomoci a pro multidisciplinární reflexi. Jednou z konsekvencí výzkumu je proto formulace principů a modelů psychosociální péče.

Abstract (in English)

The Psychology of Disastrous Events describes, from different perspectives, one of the most devastating natural events to hit the Czech Republic in the last decade, namely the floods that struck large parts of Central Europe in 2002. At the books core is the original research study drawn up and coordinated by The Czech Academy of Sciences Institute of Psychology, in cooperation with clinical psychologists and aid workers from the Caritas Czech Republic. The book provides a summary of findings about the human experience of extreme and traumatic events, based on extensive research among flood victims from all regions of the Czech Republic. The research focuses on the victims experiences and needs, and on their opinions about the assistance they were offered. It deals with all stages of the event, including the recovery stage, and incorporates a study of the experiences of members of the humanitarian response teams. The results are based on the records of 492 semi-structured interviews with members of flooded households, and on an analysis of focus groups in which aid workers had taken part.
