Abstract
Environmental geomorphology is the practical use of geomorphology for the solution of problems where humans wish to transform or to use and change surface processes. This discipline involves the following issues and themes: 1) the study of geomorphic processes and terrain that affect man, 2) the analysis of problems where man plans to disturb or has already degraded the land-water ecosystem human utilization of geomorphic agents or products as resources, 3) how the science of geomorphology can be used in environmental planning and management. A special issue of environmental geomorphology is the evaluation of the geomorphologic sites. The concept of "geomorphosites" can be used for thi purpose.
