Abstract
This chapter deals with parents and their position with respect to school, at the level of pre-primary, primary and lower secondary education in the Czech Republic. The discussion is based on a research project whose objective was to help find answers to a number of questions addressing the role of parents in school processes at contemporary Czech maternal and basic schools.

Tématem kapitoly jsou rodiče a jejich postavení ve vztahu ke škole na úrovni preprimárního, primárního a nižšího sekundárního stupně vzdělávání v České republice. Kapitola vychází z výsledků výzkumného projektu, jehož cílem bylo přispět k odpovědím na celou řadu otázek spjatých s rolí rodičů ve školních procesech na současných českých mateřských a základních školách.
